Hats off to three gentlemen from the TempWorks team

Michael Bracy celebrated his two year anniversary at TempWorks this week. Bracy worked in our support department for a little over a year before being added as an analyst to our implementation team.

Also this week, Diana Simpson from HotelPro sent TempWorks a very positive email. Simpson had great things to say about the AR Statement emailer Nguyen Tran developed and installed in their system. Nguyen is one of our most senior developers.

In the same email from Diana Simpson, she commented on Drew Bomett from our support department. "Drew is the most helpful person in support," she stated.

Nice work gentlemen!

TempWorks has great customers

I feel very lucky that I get to talk to our customers on a daily basis.

One which I would like to spotlight is BennettFrost Personnel. BennettFrost has been a TempWorks customer for over 10 years. They will be celebrating their 17th year in business in a couple months and are very involved in their community.

I had the pleasure of stopping by their corporate office about six months ago. I enjoyed meeting their staff, and I had a very good discussion with David Perez and Cathy Frost.

Cathy Frost is the President of BennettFrost, and you can read her blog from their website. I recently enjoyed reading her posting on "Being a Grown-Up Boss" and the expectations for feedback between different generations in the workplace.

Saved by TempWorks Mobile...once again

Most sales and operations professionals can relate to my experience this morning.

I was driving in the car, a little rushed, and a little nervous. I was trying to get to the office for a huge demo with one of our biggest customers.

I got a call from the person who was going to be leading the demo from my team. He could barely speak. He informed me he wouldn't be able to do the demo.

I knew by the time I got to the office there wouldn't be time to find a replacement. I couldn't wait until I got to the office to call the customer in order to postpone.

What were my options? I could pull over, fire up my laptop and hope that my broadband card found service where I was. I could call the office, find someone to look up the information for me, try and remember the phone number, have them text or email me the information, tick-tock, tick-tock, all of those options would take valuable time.

Thankfully, it was TempWorks Mobile to the rescue. I was able to look up the phone number for the contact in the matter of seconds from my mobile phone. I called and explained the situation and got the demo rescheduled...crisis averted.

Who knew such a valuable resource could be available anywhere, at any time.

The end of January already

It seems like January just got here, and looking at the calendar it is almost over already. Time sure does fly when you are having fun.

Our support department has been working nonstop this month helping out customers with their end of year processing. Melanie Kramer, our Support Center Manager, returned from a short absence to help out during this busy time. Welcome back, Melanie, and hats off to the whole team. They all do a great job.

Hats off to Eric Anderson as well. Eric had his four year anniversary with TempWorks over the weekend. He has been part of our development team for a number of years. He has worked on TwMobile, DocCenter, and our Enterprise product in recent years. Thanks Eric for your dedication.

Speaking of dedication to the job. A lot of dedication has gone into getting two TempWorks customers live on our newest front and back office Enterprise application this week. Congratulations to our implementation and development teams who have been working closely together in recent weeks to get these two customer upgraded.

Our sales team has been extremely active with prospects from all areas of the country hitting our website recently. The staff is also looking forward to spending some time with long time TempWorks sales veteran, Rich Peterson, who will be at the corporate office towards the end of the week.

The marketing team has also been busy. They have been updating our website, creating email campaigns, and getting ready for the upcoming Staffing Industry Executive Forum.

Very good company tag line

Brooke Staffing (www.brookecompanies.com) had been a great customer of TempWorks for over ten years. I have heard nothing but great things from our staff regarding Blair Sollenberger, Ashton Thomas, and the team at Brooke.

Today I was corresponding with the Mr. Sollenberger and noticed Brooke's tag line. They have one of the best I have seen in awhile, "super human resources." Right away it made me think of a big Red S on the tights of a superhero. I thought it was very catchy.

Three business trip essentials

  1. TwMobile - TempWorks Software's mobile version. Works great with any internet enabled phone. In a few seconds you can access essential customer and contact information without the clumsiness of firing up a laptop. It has phone numbers, email addresses, maps, messages, reports, and the list goes on and on.
  2. GPS - I have a Nuvi 660 from Garmin. I had a customer last week tell me she was suprised I didn't call to get directions or find out where they were located.
  3. Ipod - Until Verizon users are able to use the iPhone I will continue to use my iPod touch. I use it while working out, driving to a customer, or sitting at the airport or on the plane.
All three are great products. In my opinion all of these are must haves for any staffing professional who is out of the office in front of your customers.

Nice work development teams.

TempWorks software is very versatile, and I got to see it first hand this week.

I was able to visit customers who:
  • use TempWorks for the front office only
  • use our TwSelect ASP product
  • use the front and back office software with our payroll processing service
  • host TempWorks themselves
  • use and promote our WebCenter suite
  • will be upgrading
  • adding our mobile version
  • installing our DocCenter product

Michael Page International informed me they have tripled the number of checks per week since they started with TempWorks. They have been using our software for two years.

Searchlight People let me know Mari Kautzman and Kevin Prow, who head up our payroll processing department, do a phenomenal job.

S & B Staffing, Staff Management, and Regional Personnel all commented on much the TempWorks team is willing to jump in and help them with their issues. They all thought our support has been fantastic.

Yesterday my trip through New York continued. I was able to travel over the George Washington bridge early in the morning. I wasn't able to stop and take a picture, but it is a fascinating structure.

The Premier Group was where I stopped in in the morning. I met with President, Paul Schwabe, as well as CFO, Frank Cagliostro, and many others of their team. Premier has been in business over 20 years. In walking through the office and meeting the staff, many of them had been working for The Premier Group for five to ten years or more.

Mr. Schwabe reminded me they have been using TempWorks for over five years. He had some very nice comments about TempWorks Web Services department as he is a huge fan of TempWorks Web Center suite.

Mr. Cagliostro let me know he would probably closing the payroll year yesterday and informed me the tax updates and end of year processing continues to get easier and easier each year. Hats off to our tax department and support center during this very busy time.

visit to New York City

This morning I flew into the Newark airport. I was able to see the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building from the window of the airplane.

During my cab ride downtown I got to see where the new Yankee stadium is being built. We also drove by "the garden," I am not sure if the Knicks played tonight, but it would have been cool to see Spike Lee.

One of the things that always fascinates me about NYC is the Lincoln Tunnel. It is pretty amazing (I feel a little claustrophobic every time I am in it), but it is amazing nonetheless.

This afternoon I was able to visit The Peak Organization in New York City.

Originally known as Peak Personnel, Inc., the company was a pioneer in the staffing industry by focusing exclusively on one professional discipline – the internal audit community. This focus and success made the organization a highly regarded specialty boutique and industry leader. Today Peak has grown to include thirteen separate operating divisions, each serving a distinct professional discipline offering both staffing services and business solutions.
I had a great visit with Richard Eichenberg, who founded Peak almost 40 years ago. Mr. Eichenberg served in the U.S. Navy, as well as the Board of Directors and as Executive Vice President of the Association of Personnel Consultants of New York (APCNY). He was also Chairman of the New York Employment Council and is a charter member of the Certified Personnel Consultants Society.

Richard had nothing but great things to say about our software and the entire team at TempWorks.
